Hello everyone, and a very Happy New Year! 🎉
As we step into 2024, it's a time for reflection, for new beginnings, and most importantly, for sharing. In this edition, I'm thrilled to open up about three significant aspects of my life: my nascent side hustle, my evolving professional journey, and the personal strides I've made. Each of these spheres has its unique challenges and triumphs, and I'm here to share them with you in the hopes that they resonate, inspire, or even ignite a new idea in your own journey.
1. The Side Hustle Saga
Finding Inspiration Close to Home
The genesis of my side hustle is a story close to my heart. Working alongside family and friends, helping them in their job search, sparked an idea. Why not extend this support professionally? That's how my journey in aiding others in their job hunt began.
LinkedIn and Consistency: My 16-Day Journey and an Exciting Invitation
Social media, especially LinkedIn, has been a pivotal tool in this endeavor. Maintaining a consistent posting schedule has been a rewarding challenge. My 16-day unbroken streak is a testament to this effort, culminating in acquiring my first client! In the spirit of this journey, I'm excited to announce a special free Q&A session for job seekers on January 28th at 10:30 am. This event is an opportunity for anyone looking to sharpen their job hunting skills. If you or someone you know could benefit from this, I warmly invite you to join. I promise, it's going to be incredibly insightful and beneficial.
Organic Growth: A Mixed Feeling
Reaching 1,000 followers was a milestone, that evokes mixed feelings. The growth was organic, not driven by intentional effort. It's a start, but I'm eager to hit the next 1,000 with a more strategic approach.
2. Professional Life: A Leap of Progress
A Milestone Paper
I'm excited to share that my first peer-reviewed journal paper as a lead author was accepted into the Journal of Physics: Conference Series. Our work on a new plasma ignition RF system, operating at remarkably lower power, is preliminary and requires long-term stability tests, and marks a significant advancement in the field.
Mentorship and Overcoming Imposter Syndrome
Last year, I was fortunate to find an incredible mentor at work. His guidance in setting up the experiment and navigating the intricacies of writing the paper was invaluable. This support helped me combat imposter syndrome, something I'll delve deeper into in a future edition.
Small Projects, Big Learning
With newfound confidence, I've started to focus on taking up smaller, hands-on projects at work. This shift from theoretical simulations to practical applications is exhilarating. Recently, I completed a prototype of a high-pass filter, a practical solution that prevents amplifiers from getting damaged during an arc flash or surge of reflected power.
3. Personal Life: Harmony in Learning and Teaching
Music and Teaching: A Dual Journey of Growth
After a long hiatus, I'm back in the world of music, embarking on my seventh course in the third year of my learning journey. Finding time for practice can be challenging, but teaching my baby boy the lessons I'm learning has been a transformative experience. It's not just a teaching moment; it has become my practice session, allowing me to blend my love for music seamlessly into my daily life.
Nutritional Ups and Downs
My food habits have been a rollercoaster. Despite my best friend's suggestion of a protein-rich diet and my wife's healthy cooking, discipline remains a challenge. But I'm committed to getting back on track.
Starting Small with Exercise
This year, I'm determined to overcome procrastination in exercise. Starting with just one minute on the treadmill and one minute of weights, I'm taking small but sure steps towards a healthier lifestyle.
As we move forward in this new year, I'm curious about your goals and experiences. How has your 2024 begun? What challenges and joys have you encountered so far? I would love to hear from you, so let's make this year one of shared growth and learning.
Stay inspired, and until next time, keep chasing your dreams!
Warm regards,
Amith
P.S. Remember, every small step is a step forward. Whether it's a minute on the treadmill or a single lesson taught to a child, progress is progress. Let's celebrate it together! 🌟
